Features
In the early 2000s, the World Mission Society Church of God grew drastically. In 2003, the number of registered members exceeded 500,000 and the number of overseas churches increased. The Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute opened on November 2, 2005, due to the growing need for a place where many members could gather together. It is the third training facility that the church established following the Jeonyisan Training Institute and the Elohim Training Institute.[1]
The Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute is located in Chungcheong-do, which is in the center of Korea. The Gyeongbu Expressway and the Gyeongbu Railway pass through the city, which makes it easier for members around the nation to travel to the institute; Cheongju International Airport is also near the facility. The nearby Mt. Dolnamsan and its diverse natural scenery in all seasons impress visitors.
A Place Where People Go to the Whole World and Where People from All Over the World Come Together
At the opening ceremony of the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute, General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said, “Christ said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you’ (Matthew 28:19–20), and the Spirit and the Bride said, ‘Come and take the water of life’ (Revelation 22:17). The name of the training institute ‘Go&Come’ implies that we should obey the command of Christ in the Gospel of Matthew and convey the voice of the Spirit and the Bride and lead all nations to Jerusalem.” He then presented the vision for the future of the training institute by saying, “As a sacred place for the gospel that saves lives, it will play a role as the centerpiece of the gospel in the world.”[2] As the name implies, the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute plays a big role as an educational space for the Overseas Visiting Groups that visit Korea as well as domestic members to activate the world gospel mission.
- The 2018 General Assembly was held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute. In March, the pastoral staff from around the world confirmed their vision for the new year and set goals.[3]
- Special education programs are held here for different demographic groups such as education for title and position holders, education for young adults, students, and teachers, and regular meetings for IWBA and IUBA.[4][5][6]
- During the 2019 Worldwide University Student Leadership Conference, the Worldwide Campus Mission Vision Presentation was held. At the event, 10,000 people attended, including university students and high school students who were thinking about their career paths. University students attending the world’s top universities, such as Seoul National University, Harvard University, and the University of Singapore, introduced their alma maters and suggested their visions.[7]
- The Foreign Language Bible Preaching Contest is also held here on a large scale. The members fervently preach the truth of the Bible with their honed foreign language skills, reminding themselves of their vision and being inspired with enthusiasm.[8]
- Also, events are held to help young adults, who are the protagonists of the present and future, establish upright characters and values based on the words of the Bible and become examples for society. A variety of activities for young adults and students are held here, such as the Special Lecture on Youth Vision and the Education for Pre-Young Adults.[9][10][11]
- Overseas Visiting Group members who visit Korea study the Bible at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute, Dongbaek Training Institute, and the New Jerusalem Pangyo Temple, and learn the history and culture of Korea by visiting famous places and local church locations. The members who return to their home country after their visit to Korea preach the gospel of the new covenant and share about Korea with people from their country, playing the role of civilian diplomats.[12][13]
- Through the New Song Festival held at the Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute, young adults and students from all over the country praise God and radiate bright and hopeful energy until their hearts’ content.[14][15]
- The commemoration event and worship for the Anniversary of the Sacred Birth of Christ Ahnsahnghong were also held here (January 14, 2018),[16] as well as the event for the 50th Anniversary of the Church of God (December 31, 2013).[17] The lantern performance, which was created by 10,500 members who attended the 50th anniversary event, was certified by the National Archives of Korea for its highest number of participants in Korea.[18]
A Place of Communication, Unity, and Cooperation with Local Communities
The Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute is an open space that shares the love of Christ not only with the members of the Church of God but also with their family members and neighbors.

They made memories transcending generations, watching cultural events such as an orchestra performance and the children’s choir dance, and experiencing folk games (November 2, 2008; May–June 2009).[20][21]
- The Okcheon Go&Come Training Institute signed an agreement for free usage of the training institute with the county of Okcheon (August 12, 2010).[22] During the 49th Chungbuk Provincial Sports Festival held on October 21–23 that year, sports facilities were provided free of charge to support the development and harmony of the local community.[23]
