Features
The Church of God is located in Nakseom, the original name of the area. It was a small island off the coast of Incheon until the area around it was reclaimed in the 1970s during the Incheon Port Development Project. Second Coming Christ Ahnsahnghong was baptized here in 1948 and began to preach the truth of the new covenant as prophesied through the parable of the fig tree.[1] Because of this, every overseas visiting group visits this location. The church is equipped with the main sanctuary that can accommodate roughly 2,500 people, a small sanctuary with 350 seats, and various facilities to welcome overseas members and neighbors. At the dedication service held on April 17, 2010, General Pastor Kim Joo-cheol said, “I pray it will be a place where the members will practice God’s good will and share God’s love with the residents and where the people around the world who visit Korea learn to love and receive hope, comfort, and salvation.”
Gateway to the World Mission
Incheon is called the gateway to the world because it is where Incheon International Airport and Incheon Port are located. The Church of God in Nakseom, Incheon, which is located near the Incheon Port, also serves as a gateway to the world mission, delivering God’s love to the members and neighbors. The members of the Nakseom Church and its nearby churches share Mother’s love with the overseas members who visit Korea by welcoming them and seeing them off.[2][3]
- The 42nd Overseas Visiting Group attended the dedication service. They said, “It’s extremely exciting to see the new temple being dedicated in a city filled with God’s love as the gospel is revitalized.” They expressed their ambition to put God’s love and sacrifice into practice by following His example when they return to their countries.[4]
- The 60th Overseas Visiting Group visited the coastal wharf in Jung-gu, Incheon (Aug 30, 2013).
