Features

The Church of God established the first temple in Peru in 1998. As people quickly accepted the truth of the new covenant, several churches were founded in Lima within a short period. The members here played a crucial role in spreading the gospel to other South American countries.[1]

The Church of God in Faucett is located in the Constitutional Province of Callao within the central part of Peru. By following the Teachings of Mother” and the Bible, they quickly identify societal and neighborly issues and provide swift and practical help from this central location. Government agencies and local municipalities have recognized their efforts with numerous awards, honoring the members’ contributions to their communities and society.

Disaster Relief

The Church of God in Faucett, Peru, engages in recovery activities at disaster sites, comforting the broken hearts of neighbors and spreading the love of Elohim God.

In early 2017, floods caused by El Niño along the Lima coast affected over 1.3 million people in the north. Members from the Church of God in Faucett, together with members from nearby churches, quickly mobilized to help restore homes, schools, and roads in the affected areas.[2] Even flood victims, who had lost hope, joined the recovery efforts, and local municipalities actively supported them by providing essential supplies and meals.[3] On April 30, over 2,000 members undertook a large-scale cleanup operation at Aguadulce Beach in South Lima, which had been devastated by the floods. This initiative became a significant event, raising awareness about the impact of disasters caused by environmental pollution.[4]

On December 30, 2016, when a fire broke out in the Villa El Salvador area, members of the Church of God provided free meals for the victims. They thoughtfully prepared nutritious meals and fruits, while engaging in playful activities with children, spreading hope and encouragement. Witnessing the 20-day relief efforts carried out with a mother’s heart, the victims praised the service, describing it as “providing exactly what we needed” and “helping us realize we are not alone.”[5][6]

They also organize charitable concerts to support neighbors in need. In August 2019, they held a charity concert for residents of Moquegua affected by the Ubinas volcano eruption, delivering 350 blankets to them.[7][8] Following the earthquake in Mexico in November 2017, they donated funds raised through the concert to the Mexican Embassy. On August 5, 2018, a charity concert was held to assist cold wave victims in Puno. With the funds raised, they provided 350 blankets and 400 winter coats to the victims in coordination with the district office of Macusani, Carabaya Province.

Various events organized by church members offer rest and inspiration to citizens weary from their busy daily lives. One such event, the “Our Mother” Writings and Photos Exhibition (hereinafter referred to as the Mother Exhibition), which began in Korea in 2013, was held at the Church of God in Faucett in 2018. The Mother Exhibition attracted a diverse audience, ranging from teenagers to the elderly, including professionals from fields such as law and education. Duberlí Rodríguez Tineo, former Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, who attended the exhibition, remarked, “A mother is the most honorable person on this earth,” and added, “The Mother Exhibition shows how children should be grateful for their mothers’ sacrifices.”[9] In 2018, the church also organized a student orchestra concert to express respect and gratitude to firefighters who work tirelessly to protect lives and property.

The church regularly conducts blood drives to help alleviate blood shortages. In April 2017, during a severe blood supply crisis caused by the El Niño floods, Nancy Lange Kuczynski, First Lady of Peru, visited the blood drive at the Church of God in Faucett, encouraging the members and even donating blood herself. Witnessing the church members’ enthusiastic participation, First Lady Kuczynski remarked, “Our country needs many volunteers, and you are setting a good example in Peru. I thank the Church of God for their organized and beautiful volunteer work,” expressing her support for the church’s efforts.[12][13]

La Punta district office in Callao awarded the church a certificate of appreciation for raising environmental awareness among citizens.[14]

In October 2018, ASEZ members in the Faucett region held a global forum to discuss strategies for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Key figures, including a senior analyst from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), the Head of Security at the National Police Agency, and the Vice Minister of Environment, shared their expertise on solutions to common human problems. Amanda Cowl, Political Affairs Officer at the United Nations Regional Centre for Peace, Disarmament and Development in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNLIREC), remarked at the event, “The passion of young people trying to save the earth has provided good motivation for finding solutions to the problems we face.”[15][16]

In January of the following year, a global forum was held at the National University of San Marcos. Dubérli Rodríguez Tineo, former Supreme Judge of the Judicial Power, spoke on the theme of world peace and stated, “Violence is an issue that affects all countries of the world. I was very impressed by the ASEZ members who risked themselves to bring peace to their regions,” generously commending their efforts.[17]

Daniel Sánchez Velásquez, Vice Minister of Justice and Human Rights, met with ASEZ members after the forum to discuss practical activities for crime prevention. Vicente Antonio Zeballos Salinas, Minister of Justice and Human Rights, also attended. Minister Salinas remarked, “What is impressive is that you participate in activities with a ‘mother’s heart,’ not just stopping at motivation but actually implementing crime prevention initiatives,” praising the efforts of the young people.[18]
