Characteristics
Washington State is located in the northwestern part of the United States and borders Canada. The Cascades, a major mountain range that is considered the largest wilderness in the west, majestic glaciers, lush forests, lakes, and long stretches of coastline are beautiful. Travelers visit the Olympic National Park and the North Cascades National Park to see their beautiful scenery. Washington State is also a popular filming location where its beautiful sceneries flow beautifully with its sophisticated city.
Seattle, where the Church of God is located, is considered one of the most beautiful and livable cities in the United States.[1] Microsoft, Amazon, and Expedia are headquartered here, and global IT companies such as Google, Facebook, and Apple have also set up branch offices downtown or on the city's outskirts.[2] Seattle is considered a city with a high quality of life, creating South Seattle with its neighboring cities—SeaTac, Des Moines, and Tukwila, where people can work and rest.
The Church of God in Seattle is preaching the gospel of God Elohim who are testified in the Bible. Following the love of Christ, they put their faith into practice by sharing God's love and volunteering. The members have cleaned up the streets of Seattle, SeaTac, Kent, Everett, and Tacoma to keep the area clean.[3][4] ASEZ University Student Volunteer Group and ASEZ WAO Young Adult Worker Volunteer Group of the church are actively carrying out environmental cleanups in various places such as the University of Washington[5] and Puget Sound Park[6] in cooperation with government offices such as SeaTac City Hall.
The church members also make efforts to help their neighbors in need. They have donated blood through blood drives to help save their neighbors in need. In August 2012, the church provided meals to 200 children with rare and intractable diseases and their families at the Seattle Children’s Hospital in cooperation with the Ronald McDonald House Charity. In October 2015, the church donated 1,000 blankets to the Seattle Children’s Hospital. With the hope that the children would recover, the members made around 250 blankets that were donated.
They also take the lead in caring for their neighbors who are affected by sudden disasters. In July 2014, a large wildfire broke out in Okanogan County in northcentral Washington State.[7] The Seattle Church members carried out a campaign to donate relief supplies to help victims of the wildfire and went directly to the affected area to provide groceries and daily necessities.[8]
The Church of God in Seattle received a certificate of appreciation from the Mayor of Kent and from the City Council for its dedication to the community.[9]
